2. Search

SearchLib is a search engine. By typing keywords into a Google like search box, this tool queries the majority of the Library print, electronic and digital collections.

How to begin a search?

  1. Type in the search box keywords, a title or an author's name.
  2. Choose the search scope: Library Catalog, Online Resources, Bocconi MSc Theses, ASBOC Historical Archives.

Find out more about Bocconi MSc Theses reading our Consulting Dissertations libguide.

3. Expand your research

We usually call “database” any platform collecting data. In general, we have two different types of databases:

  • Bibliographic Databases: databases that collect various articles, texts, words, bibliographic references.
  • Numerical Databases: for example statistical or financial databases where you find numerical data.

At the top menu of the Searchlib page you will find the button Databases, click on it to access the A-Z database list, the right place where you can discover available platforms. You can browse the list using the filter “Subject” or “Types” at the top of the page.

Next to the database name you can find different icons that gives you information about the access, whereas under the name an overview about what the database collects.

Clinking on Journals at the top menu of the page you can search only within print and electronic journals, searching by title of the journal or subject area (note: you cannot search by title of an article).

4. Can’t find what you’re looking for?

Bocconi students and faculty can use the Can't find it? service to get access to material not available at Bocconi Library. You can find the button in the top menu of the Searchlib page.

You can choose whether to request a book in print or as an e-book. If the book is not available in your chosen format, we’ll contact you with alternative options. Chapters and articles are always delivered electronically.

To send the request, you just need to sign in and then complete the specific form.
