Downloading real-time data
Through the add-in “Workspace” -> ”Build Formula” you can download real time data such as the bid and ask prices of a single company or of a list of companies. Please consider that you can get real time data also for other kinds of instruments (bonds, stock indices...).
To access “Build Formula”, open an Excel file from a computer with LSEG Workspace desktop version installed, and click “Refinitiv”:
Now click “fx” to open the “Formula Builder” screen:
Formula Builder is an advanced interface for creating and editing formulas to download real-time, fundamental, and historical data.
You can build your formula busing the following functions:
You can click Layout if you want to add tags to columns and rows, and to order the data as you need:
You can click Update Frequency if you want to refresh the formula automatically:
Let’s perform a sample search:
We want to create a formula to monitor the bid and ask prices of all the ordinary shares traded on the Milan stock exchange
Click the icon “Search Instruments” and then “Equities”:
Apply the desired filters, click the icon “Send All” and enter the total number of results (in our example, “628”) in the “Export rows box” to get the complete list:
Open the category “Real-time” --> “Equity” and click “Add” next to the data items “Ask” and “Bid”: they will appear it the section “Selected items”:
Now click the button “Update Frequency”, select in the menu “Manual Refresh”, click “Ok” and then “Insert”:
Here is the formula you have just created to monitor the price information you are interested in:
