Downloading the competitors of a given company
LSEG Workspace allows you to compare companies in several different ways.
One of the most time-saving search strategy is to use one of the templates available in the Template Library to directly download data into a pre-formatted spreadsheet. Having templates already built for your needs means that you don’t have to spend time creating formulas or choosing layout settings. The Template Library is available both in LSEG Workspace desktop and in the Excel add-in “Workspace”.
To access the Template Library in LSEG Workspace desktop type “template” in the search bar, and click “DCF Template”:
To access the Template Library through the Workspace Excel add-in just click “Template”:
The Library includes more than one hundred templates; you can find the one that works best for you exploring the categories on the left side bar or typing relevant keywords in the search bar:
Read the template description to identify the most useful for your needs, and click “Download” to open it in a new Excel spreadsheet:
Each template includes a sheet explaining how to use it, as well as one or more sheets containing the data:
Let’s try to customize the template to retrieve the peer analysis of Siemens Ltd (India)
As explained in the Instructions sheet of the template, let’s replace the sample RIC code with Siemens RIC code, then press “Enter” on the keyboard:
All the sheets in your template will update automatically with your company’s financial and valuation measures, along with the competitors’ measures:
Although using templates allows you to retrieve lists of comparable companies in a fast and easy way, please keep in mind that you can instantly get competitors information also through LSEG Workspace desktop, simply typing the name of the company and exploring the section “Peers & Valuation":
