Welcome to Bocconi University! The libguide below will help you get started with library resources

Find sources for your papers

Bocconi Library has created a series of Libguides to help you with your studies and researches.

There are subject guides created in collaboration with University departments, and topic guides on a specific topic or databases/tasks. Inside the Libguides you can find books and ebooks, journals, databases, open access suggestions for your subject/topic.

All the Libguides aimed at supporting users in finding relevant material for their research and get the most out of Library resources.

If you want to browse our collections or if you want to know where some of our services are, you can use Stackmap Explore.
You can find it on the Library homepage, in the "Using the Library" section, under the label "Find your way in the Library".

Stackmap is a tool that helps you locating the book you are looking for on the Library shelves. It is very easy to use because it is integrated in the Library catalog and covers all printed material of the Library.

For more information about Stackmap, please see Stackmap libguide.

SearchLib is a search engine. By typing keywords into a Google like search box, this tool queries the majority of the Library print and digital collections.

Once you are on the Searchlib homepage we suggest you to Sign In with your Bocconi credentials to access your Library Account where you can check your loans and renew them, consult your reading history and more. After you have signed in you can also make requests.

In the top menu you can find different quick links, for example:

Databases: takes you to the databases A-Z list

Journals: sets a filter so you can search only within print and electronic journals, searching by title or subject area

Can't Find It?: a form to request resources you didn't find in our discovery and to suggest purchase

How to do a research?

Put the keyword in the Google like search box, then use filters on the left to narrow your search (e.g. Availability, resource type, subject…)

Analyze results

In the results preview you can see at the top what kind of material it is (book, article...) and if is available online, in print, or both. If you find "Not available" it means that the resource is temporarily unavailable (for books for example, they may be on loan).

Clicking on the title you'll find a full detail tab (full record details) with all the information about the resource.

If is a book already on loan or located in the Main/Off-site Storage, you can reserve it using the "Request" option. If the book is available and located in the Reading rooms you will find the "Locate" button to open StackMap and view on a map where exactly the book is located in the Library.
